By Air

AThe Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, situated in Guwahati and located 18 kms. away from the city centre is well connected with most of the popular cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkatta, Mumbai, etc., of the country. Other cities of Assam like Silchar, Tezpur, Jorhat, etc., are also connected with popular cities of India by air. The regular flights of companies like Air India, kingfisher Red, Go Air Business, SpiceJet, run all the year round on regular back and froth basis. International weekly flight between Bangkok and Guwahati is operated by Druk Air.

By Rail 

Assam has wide as well as convenient railway network which connects the state to rest of the country. There are ample of trains which run from New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Trivandrum and Cochin. From Delhi, bookings can be made in trains like North East Express, Rajdhani Express, etc. Similarly from Kolkata and Mumbai, one can board trains like Kanchenjunga Express, Mumbai LTT Guwahati Express, etc., respectively.

By Road

Due to the presence of good network of National Highways, Assam connects well to all prime cities of India. The National highway Number 31, 37, 38, 40 and 52 connects with Assam. The private operators as well as the State Transport run bus services on daily basis for commuters. Because the roads and Highways are well maintained and drivable, therefore people can even hire taxis, car and Jeeps for reaching there. If visitors are planning to reach to Assam via road, avoid coming in the month from June to September as the state is hard hit by monsoon rains.
