Assam has wide as well as convenient railway network which connects the state to rest of the country. There are ample of trains which run from New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Trivandrum and Cochin. From Delhi, bookings can be made in trains like North East Express, Rajdhani Express, etc. Similarly from Kolkata and Mumbai, one can board trains like Kanchenjunga Express, Mumbai LTT Guwahati Express, etc., respectively.
Due to the presence of good network of National Highways, Assam connects well to all prime cities of India. The National highway Number 31, 37, 38, 40 and 52 connects with Assam. If visitors are planning to reach to Assam via road, avoid coming in the month from June to September as the state is hard hit by monsoon rains.
